From suede skirts to barn jackets, the offerings hit all the season’s best trends
As a fashion editor, I’m always on the hunt for new brands that I can integrate into my wardrobe. I recently spotted photos of Massimo Dutti’s Barcelona runway show online in October and fell in love with the sleek tailored suits, suede jackets, and minimalist dresses. The Spanish brand wasn’t entirely new to me, but I can’t say I knew it well; while it’s been around since the ’90s, it has had a limited presence in the U.S. So when I got the opportunity to try on the clothes in person, I jumped at the chance.
In my test drive, there were a few standout pieces, including a sumptuous brown suede jacket and skirt set and a silky smooth chocolate-brown dress. I found that the range includes plenty of closet staples for casual, off-duty days as well as elegant eveningwear that’s ideal for the holiday party season ahead. I was most impressed by the quality and craftsmanship you get for the price, given that most pieces are under $300.
My verdict: The brand offers an elevated take on wardrobe essentials that feels fresh and modern. Think perfectly collared button-up shirts, crisp trousers, and tailored jackets—all designed with an eye toward what’s trending and relevant now.
The Pleated Suede Skirt and Leather Jacket
Like many fashion editors, I’ve fallen hard and fast for suede this season, and this pleated suede maxi skirt struck me as extra special. (It’s part of Massimo Dutti’s limited-edition collection, so act fast if you want to make it yours.) Given that crimson has been a trending color since Maximillian Davis first debuted his Ferragamo collection, a bright red turtleneck felt like the right high-octane contrast to the dark color palette. In the store, I added a pebbled-leather bomber jacket in oxblood, but this version in black is available online and looks just as good. The oversize shape is on trend, and the leather feels luxe.
